You haven't listed Kaspersky or NOD32, which are better than all of those...

If I HAD to chose between them, I would probably pick Avast to be honest. McAfee and Symantec use too much resources and are very hard to completely uninstall. AVG has poor detection rates, and I have personally never used PC Tools so I can't comment on that.

If I had to chose a free AV right now, it would be Avira AntiVir PE Classic. If I had to chose a pay-for AV, it would be Kaspersky or NOD32.

I have the full AVG version and iv'e tried the free one too there both great. mcafee will slow down ur computer. dont get symantec it will slow ur pc down too and its impossible to fully uninstall. avast is ok and ive never heard of or used pc tools.

if you need a free one i recommend avg. but if you wish to purchase one i use symantic the symantic firewall works better than the built in windows one.
Well I will prefer nod32 and kaspersky fro my pc
